I used to live in pretty Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex. It’s a lovely little town by the River Crouch and it’s a pretty amazing place for wedding venues. The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club might not be the obvious choice of wedding venue in a town which boasts two other epic wedding venues in the form of Creeksea Place and Mangapp Manor. However it turned out to be a truly excellent one for Natalie and Keith and one I’d highly recommend particularly for the amazing sea views and hospitality. I had an amazing time as a Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Wedding Photographer for this awesome pair. They show know how to throw a party…
Natalie got ready with her girls at the fabulous Oyster Smack Inn and was super calm and relaxed. “Train drinks” probably helped a little… Zoe Cornwell and her colleague did the hair and makeup. I don’t know much about hair and makeup to be perfectly honest but I do know all the girls looked amazing and I was really impressed by how relaxed and confident she made everyone feel. Check her out.
I walked over to The White Harte Inn to get some shots of the boys having a drink and a bite to eat before the ceremony. On the way I passed the popular local florist Jacaranda who provided the lovely flowers for the day. The boys were also on top form and the banter was flowing from the onset. It was clear from the onset that this was going to be a day with lots of laughter 🙂
The weather, as it always is with weddings, was a well visited topic of conversation throughout the day. It looked like it might rain but fortunately it never did which was a huge relief as probably the best thing about The Royal Corinthian are the views of The River Crouch. There is also loads of balcony space and a fantastic pier reaching out into the river which we took full advantage of. The ceremony was lovely and had the perfect mix of tears and more laughter. We took the group shots out on the fantastic pier – a key perk for a Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Wedding Photographer!
The food and speeches were great and the host Kate was excellent to work with both for me and Nat & Keith. Despite being heavily pregnant she certainly didn’t hold back on ensuring everything was ship shape. The highlight of the day for me however was the evening party. Nat and Keith had chosen an excellent band called Teenage Kicks to entertain everyone that night and as you can see, they went down very, very well.
Thanks so much Keith & Natalie for asking me to be your Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Wedding Photographer. I had a brilliant time documenting your day. Here are some of my favourite moments…
I’m a Norfolk Wedding Photographer who travels all over the place capturing lovely weddings. I regularly shoot as an Essex Wedding Photographer too. I was very impressed with the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club as a wedding venue. It’s one that can easily get overlooked with the other wedding venues in the area that purely focus on weddings alone. However that river location is something special. If you’d like a Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Wedding Photographer, or indeed a wedding photographer for anywhere in the UK or further afield, get in touch!
Big thanks to John of Pure Image for pointing Natalie & Keith in my direction.
