Winston Sanders
Super smiley photographer man
I live with my wife, 3-year-old son and cavapoo (Maple) in sunny Norwich, Norfolk. If you don’t live near me don’t let that put you off. I will travel anywhere for weddings! So far Sydney, Australia has been the furthest. I’ve been shooting weddings for over 10 years and LOVE my job. I love photography and I love people. Making people happy makes me happy and doing this job certainly does that.
I know how important it is to find the right photographer. If you connect with my work I would love to hear from you!
My Signature Style
Empathy
I’m naturally unobtrusive and don’t want to take over. I’m nice, friendly, I listen and I just fit in. It might sound like a silly thing to mention when it’s my photography skills you’re undoubtedly most interested in, but I think these things are really very important so that you and your guests enjoy the day to its fullest.
Joy
I absolutely love weddings and feel truly humbled to be such an important part of a couple’s special day. I love the emotion – the joy of two people coming together and celebrating their love with their friends and family. It is infectious! My main aim is to capture that emotion so that you can relive it again and again for the rest of your lives.
Colourful
I like my photos to reflect the joy of the day so I edit them in a vibrant, colourful, joyful way. They look natural but full of energy and life! I don’t follow photography trends. I want your photos to always look awesome no matter what the latest fad is. For me, an image has to evoke emotion (usually joy!) to be a good image.
About Me
Free time
I love spending time with my family and friends, listening to rock music, thinking about reforming my old band, walking my dog in Mousehold Heath, eating veggie food, swimming, snorkeling/scuba diving (somewhere warmer), watching Fantasy films/TV (Dune, Hunger Games, Westworld), playing board games (Ticket to Ride, Risk), yoga, listening to podcasts (Diary of a CEO, Parenting Hell), and exploring new countries (especially South East Asia).
Photography
I started photography around the age of 10 with my Mum’s 35mm SLR (film) camera and just never stopped. To be honest, I never thought it would become my career! It was just something I loved and did so much that I got good at it. I first earned some money from selling prints from my travels around the world and then from shooting live music gigs. I shot my first wedding for a friend of a friend back in 2005. Although it was terrifying there was something about it that got me hooked. Perhaps the emotions, the spontaneity, the space to be creative, and the opportunity to capture something incredibly meaningful for people.
Personality
I don’t really like labels but I guess “empath” describes me pretty well. I’m basically like an emotional sponge! If I watch a soppy film, I will cry. Conversely, surrounding myself with happy people on a wedding day gets me buzzing! I’m also an eternal optimist. Don’t get me wrong, I love a sunny day but if the weather is forecast to rain, that’s ok too. We’ll make some magical rainy photos. I’m a people pleaser but I’m also working on looking after myself more. This last year I’ve been getting really into swimming which is a bit random I know! Does anyone want some underwater wedding photos?!
