It was quite a surprise to be asked to be a Highbury Hall Wedding Photographer just three weeks before Kathryn and Pete were to be married! Pete later told me that they weren’t really too bothered about having a wedding photographer but decided they probably should have one at the last minute. I’m very glad they did and was really happy to hear afterwards that they love the photos.
This was my first time shooting at Highbury Hall which is probably unsurprising as I am based in Norfolk. However I regularly travel all over the country shooting weddings. On this weekend it was Moseley, Birmingham where I would capture a lovely couple’s wedding celebration. This wedding was particularly unique as there weren’t just two stars of the show but three. The third being their beautiful daughter who ensured she was a part of the ceremony held by Mum and Dad as they gave their vows to each other. This wasn’t planned, but as anyone with toddlers know, nothing ever goes completely to plan! She added something extra special to the ceremony and had the whole room smiling with her questions throughout the proceedings.
This wedding was very much a DIY affair. Kathryn in particular did an amazing job decorating and doing all the flowers. Although it was February, it wasn’t too cold so we managed to make use of the lovely grounds too. I was impressed with the venue – the service and food was excellent and it provided lots of lovely spots for photographs too. The entertainment that evening was provided by Tzigauners, an excellent european swing / gypsy jazz band.
Here are a few of my favourite images from the day. Thanks again Kathryn & Pete for asking me to be your Highbury Hall Wedding Photographer!
