The Lawn Wedding Photographer | Alice & Dan

The Lawn Wedding Photographer image by Winston Sanders - portrait shot under the arch

I first met Alice and Dan at a Costa in Maldon, Essex after they responded to an advert I put out in a magazine. They were in need of a Lawn Wedding Photographer for the day the following year. I was instantly struck by how kind they are and knew that their wedding was going to be very laid back and lovely. It was a fair old wait until their wedding day at The Lawn in Rochford near Southend-on-Sea came around. Before it did, I suspect what the weather would be like was undoubtedly on a few people’s minds. They had decided to get married in February. However the big day came and rain was most certainly not on the cards – bright glorious sun shine all day long! Most summer days are not as amazing as the weather was that day! It also turned out that they had picked an awesome venue. The Lawn is a stunning manor house with beautiful grounds and friendly staff. A great venue to have bridal preparations, ceremony and reception all in one place and very close to Southend airport too so foreign guests could easily fly in!

The girls were in fine form as they got ready. Dan however although obviously excited, was perhaps a little more nervous and by the time came for Alice to walk down the aisle his emotions were clearly visible. It was a beautiful emotional ceremony that had many people wiping their eyes. After the groups shots Alice, Dan and I took a few portraits around the lovely grounds before heading in for some food and speeches.

The music for the first dance was performed by bridesmaid Lauren Bradley with her guitar. She was also joined for more pieces by Alice’s Dad, Martin. Having people important to the couple perform helped create a special atmosphere that later erupted into a full blown party as Georgia Box took to the stage to sing some classic pop tunes.

Thanks for inviting me to be your Essex Wedding Photographer Alice & Dan! It was amazing. Here are a few of images from your day.
